You NEED This Writer and a New #FlashForFriday

J. S. Collyer

Evening lovely readers 🙂

Today I am able to write this post with a sense of excitement and wonder. Those of you that have read my previous posts will know that I mention one of my best friends and writing hero, J. S. Collyer, quite frequently (yes this is the perdy lady just above 🙂 ). Well today I’m thrilled to be able to say that her first novel is due to be released in August entitled ‘Zero.’ I can’t say enough good things about her writing (and not only because she’s my friend 🙂 ) and don’t really know where to start but I’ll give it a jolly good shot 🙂

In such inspirational writing there isn’t just one set genre that can be used to describe the diversity within. I hear cries of ‘SCI FI, YOU KNOW IT’S SCI FI, SCI FI, SCI FI, SCI FI…’ Well this would be where you’re wrong. The utter genius and creativity within her writing suggests many intricate nuances that combine to make such yummy creativity emerge. Yes, some of her stories are set in the future but from my personal experience alone there has been thrillers, dystopian futures, dark horror and more evident in the Worlds she creates. She has such a mastery of language that really helps you to picture the story as if it were playing out in front of you. I can promise you are drawn into these Worlds and you will struggle to put her novel down until you have read the entire thing. Please, check out her blog with the link above, I can promise you won’t be disappointed. You can also find the synopsis for her novel here. As some will notice, it is being published by the epic Dagda Publishing. I have mentioned them a lot in previous posts too so please take a look at their catalogue of books to get even more literary goodies to wet your appetite. Neither will disappoint 🙂

And now on to my flash fiction. Today I decided to write a flash fiction that is set in one of the Worlds from my novel. I know this won’t make much sense as my novel isn’t out (yet 😉 ) but hopefully it will be understandable and enjoyable at the same time. Please enjoy 🙂

Gifted

Aria took a deep and steadying breath. She should be used to this by now but by the Lady it still made her skin crawl. She had too much flesh on show to begin with but this had never seemed to bother any but her. She adjusted her bard ‘robes’ as the great silver doors to the throne room opened. The fact they were referred to as robes was laughable; there were thin slivers of silver scales covering her nipples and very little else with almost translucent silver lace descending from her silver belt. Honestly, it would make little difference if they entered naked. Now Aria sighed. She was surrounded by her sister bards but only a few of them in the group were true seers and unfortunately Aria was the most powerful; this could be both a gift and a curse. She knew things about the others that she was not sure that even they knew.

The sultry music began and all started to sway towards the throne, their hips swinging in time to the seductive beat. Each had determination in their eye as one could be picked to marry the crown prince and have dominion over all the rest. It was not really a choice, more what was expected of you in this life. She almost wanted to laugh; of all the roles that Fate could have tasked her with within the realm of Death why did it have to be that of a Seer? Aria looked up to see piercing chocolate eyes staring at her. The King was sat atop the silver gem encrusted throne, a handsome man himself with only a few silver hairs adorning his ebony beauty but he was nothing compared to the prince. He had the softest rose coloured lips in creation, soft brown hair that looked tousled by the fragrant wind of Ollania, a strong chiselled nose and an intelligence in his eyes that called to the deepest part of her being. She could feel her heart begin to accelerate to almost painful levels and shockingly the large decadent hall, aristocratic revellers and even the King disappeared. Only she and the prince remained. She felt that he was looking deep into her soul to discover all of her secrets but she would willingly tell him them all for just one smile from his soft lips. Eventually however even he disappeared and Aria realised she was having a vision.

A silver haze overtook her sight and Aria was dumbfounded at the timing of this particular vision. Perhaps the prince had triggered it? Clarity was soon to appear however as the haze cleared to reveal the temple of the seers, her home since she was a small child, however everything remained in the black, white and shades of grey instead of the multifaceted hues she was used to. An older version of herself was stood in the centre of the spacious marble hall arguing with the prince, only now he wore the crown of the King and there seemed to be an evil blood red aura that shone in the monotone of his surroundings. Finally the prince withdrew a shining silver dagger and plunged it into the older Aria again and again. There had been no sound to begin with but the scream the older Aria emitted echoed throughout the temple and through her own soul. She knew that there were tears streaming along her cheeks at the sight of her own Death and she longed to look away but her vision was drawn to a presence in the corner. Stood there was a beautiful woman that looked hauntingly like the Lady, the creator of Aria’s universe. Alethea, the Angel of Death, had created their Universe after she Fell and had needed to bring those humans affected by her fall to a sanctuary. How did this woman look like her? She even had the beautiful ebony wings and the scythe. She too seemed frozen as if she were watching the scene in a vision, crystal tears streaming over her ivory skin, but as she did not seem to see Aria then she must be seeing it as a past vision far into Aria’s future. What could this mean?

Gradually the scene receded from her sight and she found herself back in the middle of the bards, her eyes still locked to those of the prince. More crystalline tears fell over her soft skin. She now knew that this man, this prince with so much authority, was both her salvation and her damnation and she knew there was not a thing she could do about it…

#FlashForFriday – Terribleminds Fairy Tale Flash Fiction Challenge

Hello lovely readers 🙂

Last week I mentioned that I was attempting a flash fiction challenge set me by my wonderful author friend J S Collyer. In this you had to pick a fairy tale to rewrite and add into it a sub genre that was not in the original 🙂 You then had to use any random number generator to help you pick your sub genre from a list on the website and I kid you not I got sword and sorcery 🙂 How perfect is that? I almost exploded with glee when I got that. Anyone who has visited my page previously will know that I am a bona fide fantasy nut. This is the result I came up with; I hope you enjoy 🙂

Cin

“Cinderellaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa,” rang out her stepmother’s shrill voice. Cin sighed. Why won’t you die Cinderella, (after Millais) Picture (2d, fantasy, witch)old woman? she thought as her body moved to comply to the harpies wail. She found herself ascending the stairs in their, sorry, her home. She had no desire to think of it as theirs. She still saw those upstairs as intruders.

“Yes stepmother?” she asked on a sigh as she entered the room. Sat on the chaise was her stepmother and step sisters draped in the finery that her family’s wealth bought them. They’d squandered the gold her father had earned before his ‘absolutely-not-suspicious-death-in-anyway.’ She’d been left with rags as her clothes and no shoes, her robes and staff were gone, while they had kept the gold for themselves. Her estate was almost bankrupt and there wasn’t a damn thing she could do about it.

“Tonight is the night,” began the harpy. “We need you to go and get our robes, our staves and the armour. They won’t know what hit them,” giggled her stepmother.

“But motherrrrrr,” whined the fat sister. “How do we decide who gets the Prince?”

“We decide after the spell wears off,” informed the ugly one. Cin made a point of not thinking of them in relation to their names. That personalised them and they deserved no such consideration.

“Yes stepmother,” Cin reiterated as she went to do what they bid. The damn spell that awful woman had put on her the night she had entered her home meant she had no choice to obey. Her own considerable power had been nulled by it so she was as much a Norm as her pathetic step sisters. Norms were those born without magic and shunned by the ruling sorcerer aristocracy. An aristocracy her father had been part of…

… Cin watched as her step family streaked off to the ball on their broomsticks, sorry, in their carriages. She wasn’t envious of them per say more that she thought herself a good person and she was loyal to the royal family. Knowing the plans that her step family had for them grated on her but what could she do? She went back to the fireplace that served as her bed, sat down on her chair and sighed. She felt restless but somehow defeated, which was a feeling she loathed.

Her attention was suddenly drawn to the kitchen window she had left open as an almost transcendent bird song began as if from nowhere. Gradually a ruby red shine began and in its midst appeared a small songbird made of pure flame. Cin was mesmerised by it. She had an affinity for birds and this one was truly beautiful.

The songbird finally finished its song and looked directly into Cin’s eyes. Did the bird actually smile at her? With a tweet and a wink the bird coalesced into itself, grew and the image of her father appeared within. Cin almost swallowed her tongue. What? How? When? Her father was dead, wasn’t he? She had never actually seen a body.

“Yes I am dead Cin,” her see through father began. “Your stepmother saw to that, but I couldn’t just sit idly by in paradise while my daughter was treat the way she is. Had not time moved differently there I would have come sooner. Don’t say anything my little love, we don’t have a lot of time and we need to stop the fool woman I stupidly married.”

“How do you mean father?” Cin asked, not really knowing what to expect.

“You know only half of what they have planned. They are going to spell the Prince, marry him to one of the daughters and kill the King and Queen to gain power. My former wife believes she has enough magic to do that and we can’t take the chance that she has. You are powerful daughter, you will stop them.”

“I can’t father,” Cin sighed. “The harpy you married spelled me the first night she was here. She nulled my power and made me obey. I am helpless.” She watched as her father smirked,

“I may be dead Cin but I am not altogether powerless.” She watched as her father closed his eyes and held up his hands. Purple energy surrounded her and she heard a sound akin to a lock unlocking. She felt her power rush back to her in all its flaming ruby glory and she had to smile. It felt wonderful.

“I will empower you also daughter to ensure you prevail.” He held up his hand again and a doorway of purple flame appeared. She watched as her father reached through it and withdrew a bundle of ruby-red clothing and a staff. He blinked and the purple doorway dissipated as if it never was. He handed her the staff with a perfect, fist sized ruby floating atop of it and held the robes, armour and boots up for her to see. The robes and boots were flaming red ending in magical, transcendent flames and the armour was the purest silver. Cin was eager to put them on, they were beautiful. She took them from her father with almost reverence.

“Remember Cin, I love you always,” and with that her father disappeared back into a flaming purple birdsong and then vanished. She was touched he came as a ruby-red one for her. He was always that thoughtful. She smiled but she had to turn her mind to tonight…

…Cin stood to one side of the ballroom with her hood over her head. She had already started to garner notice from the quality of her robes and armour so she prayed her stepmother would hurry up and make her move so she could disappear again. It hadn’t even occurred to her to wonder what she would do afterwards she was that focused on her task.

The orchestra began and Cin was almost blinded by what she saw. The King and Queen came down the stairway resplendent in their robes but it wasn’t them that caught her attention. Following after them was the most beautiful man she had ever seen. He had beautiful ebony hair, handsome features and a well muscled body under his beautiful sapphire robes. Cin reasoned this must be the Prince. She was spellbound.

Suddenly she heard a familiar shrill wail that turned her stomach and hardened her heart.

“Your royal majesties,” began her stepmother. “I am Lady Lanaya and I must respectfully ask you to step down from power.” The crowd parted and her stepmother came forward flanked by her two ridiculous daughters.

“Who are you to demand such from royalty?” exclaimed the Prince, angry that someone could demand such from his parents.

“I am the new Queen,” stated her delusional stepmother. She watched as she raised her hand towards the Prince and Cin’s heart accelerated. Lime green energy flew towards him and she watched in horror as he was encased in crystal. There was gasps among the crowd and his parents seemed frozen, unsure what to do. She saw her stepmother turn with glee to the Queen and Cin knew she had to act. Stepping in front of the Queen Cin pointed her staff towards the frozen Prince and watched in satisfaction as flames engulfed him and he was once again free. She heard a distraught scream and had to smile.

“Who are you to interrupt my plans???”

“Oh you know who I am,” Cin replied and removed her hood to reveal her perfect golden features.

“Cinderella!!! My spell should have kept you at home.”

“Sorry stepmother,” Cin replied with sarcasm. “You’re out of luck. I got some unexpected help and now I’m here to stop you.”

“Pathetic child,” her stepmother spat. “I should have ended you long ago.” With that, her stepmother brought her hands together glowing the lime green of her magic. She began to swirl them in a circular motion and once a ball of lime green flame was sat between her hands she projected it towards Cin. She had to smile as the sad attempt at magic bounced off the shield of flame surrounding her.

“My turn,” Cin said with a wicked smile. She echoed her stepmother’s motions and projected her power towards her. Many songbirds of ruby red flame flew towards her stepmother with force and vengeance. Around the sad woman the power coalesced and cocooned her in bright red crystal. For her step sisters, two ruby-red songbirds plucked out each eye, penance for the torment they put her through. She turned to the royalty,

“Forgive me your majesties for bringing warfare to your home. I learnt what they had planned and couldn’t stand idly by. I leave them here  for you, for your just punishment and what they deserve.” She was about to leave when someone caught at her arm,

“Cinderella, wait,” began the Prince. “You don’t have to go so soon do you? My family and I would like to reward you for your bravery and I would like to comment on your beauty.” Cin felt her heart thaw a little at that.

“Please you don’t have to do that but a dance would be nice. I haven’t done so in so long and I so love to,” she smiled at him. “But my name isn’t Cinderella, it’s what my stepmother demeaned me by, denying me my true name. It’s Cinder named so for my affinity with the magic that burns. You however can call me Cin.”

Where Am I? An Update and a Smile Go a Long Way

Good evening lovely readers 🙂

Right about now seemed like a good time to flesh out where I am with my writing. So many exciting things are happening at the moment that it felt right to post about it. As mentioned in the previous post, the new anthology for Dagda Publishing is available from Amazon. All Hail the New Flesh is a collection of thirteen futuristic stories with a dystopian feel and a general theme of ‘technology gone mad.’ In this I have been lucky enough to have my short story Requiem chosen for publication; it’s a great honour and has been wonderful fuel for my creative fire. As I got overexcited and bought the kindle version this morning, a full review will be posted shortly 🙂

Next some wonderful personal news. Today I have had confirmation that I can get my novel professionally edited. The wonderful people at Dagda Publishing have agreed to edit my draft so I have the perfect version to send to publishers. I cannot begin to say how much I appreciate this as they are very busy with bringing out their fabulous novels and anthologies. I would in turn try to submit my novel to Dagda but I’m a self proclaimed fantasy nut through and through; give me sword and sorcery any day 🙂

And now to the blog news. I have to say that I do have a lot of rough copies of writing on here that I have stored for future use such as my novel idea Frozen. I do fully intend to carry on with this initial idea but as the paragraph above states I am concentrating on my original novel I Cast Magic Into the Darkness and intend to take this as far as I can. So in the meantime I hope you enjoy any posts I put on here in the future and for now take them as they are 🙂 Keep an eye out for improvements in the future.

And lastly I have a new #FlashForFriday in the creating which will be posted on here on Friday. It’s in reply to a flash fiction challenge my friend told me about where you have to rewrite a fairy tale and include a sub genre that wasn’t in the original. I am so excited in writing this and can’t wait for you to see what I have done. I hope you like it 🙂

Thank you 🙂

New Creative Yumminess

Good evening lovely readers 🙂

First I would like to apologise as I am currently typing this one-handed. My baby girl is going through a phase of refusing to be put down. So please forgive me if there are any typos 🙂

Next I am so excited to say that the new anthology from the epic Dagda Publishers is out tomorrow. That’s right, the 25th of January. All Hail the New Flesh is a collection of thirteen futuristic short stories with the general theme of ‘technology gone mad.’ I am so thrilled to say that my best friend and writing hero Jex has had one of her short stories accepted for publication. Isaac Heights is a thrilling bout of creativity about a newly qualified doctor trying to make it in a psychiatric hospital for androids. I myself have also been lucky enough to have my short story Requiem accepted for publication. The story follows my character Ana and her fight against the infestation of ‘Bots,’ a race of self-righteous machines bent on destroying Humanity. I can already tell you that you need to pick up a copy of this; it’s a must read and you may start liking some new authors along the way. A full review will be posted as soon as I have the book to read 🙂

Have you had a stab at flash fiction? As some of you may know I have had a couple of attempts so far entitled #FlashForFriday but now I have come across an exciting challenge that I am eager to write 🙂 This Flash Fiction Challenge requires you to rewrite a fairy tale but the twist is you must add a sub genre not originally contained within the story. The website gives you options of said genre and I hope I get sword and sorcery with my random number generator. Can you see why I’m excited? It will be a fine chance for me to flex my fantastical muscle 😉 The result of this challenge will be posted on here next Friday 🙂

I’ll leave you now as I really must get the little one to bed but I will finish off by saying check out the Dagda Publishing website. They’ve started a new feature on flash fiction and Jex’s ‘Caffeine Low’ is their first pick. It’s a great read 🙂

Thank you 🙂

The Writer and the Vivid Imagination PLUS a new #FlashForFriday

Just recently I’ve come to wonder how writers control their vivid imaginations. In my opinion at least that’s the one ingredient writers can’t do without. One would need a vivid imagination combined with a love of creating new Worlds and a passion for the written word to create some literary marvels; but how do you stop it from leaking into your subconscious mind?

There’s a mild warning for late pregnancy that your dreams will become more vivid but I put a question to you; does it become a more surreal experience when you write? I have spoken to other women about this and they say the most that occurred with them was they could remember more of their dreams. So does this mean their dreams remained, for want of a better word, normal? Is it because we as writer’s use our imagination everyday to create Worlds and such immensely vivid clarity will automatically leak into the subconscious mind?

Speaking from my personal experience alone I am one that never remembered dreams, I would merely wake up with a sense of emotion from it such as fear from a nightmare. Recently however I have been remembering entire dreams and what I have dreamt has left me with a sense amusement and some very surreal literature to write. I’ve dreamt about visiting my sister in a place where I used to live but now it had purple sky and the houses had changed to palaces. I’ve dreamt about everything being made of chocolate (I know, I know lol 🙂 ) and I took a bite out of my boyfriend’s arm; but the most vivid dream I have had was about a talking horse. Now those old enough to remember will know of an American tv show called Mr Ed about such a talking horse but I can promise you,  my dream was far different…

Redemption

How long had she run now? She felt like she had been running forever. She was so guilt stricken that she had run from battle that even her foot steps through the forest seemed to echo maniacal, taunting laughter. Her silver sword slapped at her back and her crossbow pinched her leather clad behind. Surely she was far enough away that she could stop now. The tendons in her legs burned and her feet were numb; collapsing from exhaustion was a near certainty at this point.

Eventually she came upon a silver lake surrounded by silver trees in the moonlight. She slowed her speed and soon came to a stop. Her chest felt heavy and her soul felt broken. She sat upon a nearby rock and allowed her head to fall into her hands. She panted as she felt pure crystalline tears escape through her fingers. What had happened to her? She had never been a coward before. She had always faced her foes with courage and a small amount of tenacity. However, seeing her King fall had almost shattered her. She had served with honour and had a love for the King and need to protect him. Seeing him pierced with a thousand arrows had sent many warriors in many directions, herself included. She was so ashamed.

She listened to the serene water for a while, hoping the calmness would overtake her soul but she was jarred by a note of discontent. There was a rustle coming from the other side of the lake. She tensed. Had the enemy found her already? She wouldn’t run this time she decided. She jumped to her feet withdrawing her sword as she went. It sliced through the air with cold lethality and somehow she began to heal. To her surprise however she didn’t see the enemy wading towards her, she found a beautiful pure white horse instead. She dropped her sword in amazement. It walked directly up to her, nuzzled her from head to toe and asked,

“Why do you cry?” She was shocked. Had the horse really spoken to her or was it just part of her feverish imaginings? Perhaps sanity had deserted her just as she had the battle. In any case she answered,

“I am a coward. I ran from my King’s battle. The sight of him falling to so many arrows shattered my heart; and… and… I do not want to die.”

“Fear not,” the steed claimed. “Climb onto my back and you will not die. We will win this battle together.” She wasn’t sure how to take this offer. Was she dreaming? What did she have to lose however? Well, her dignity but that was gone the moment she ran. She bent to scoop her sword from the soft silver grass and placed it within its sheath on her back. She then mounted the horse as graceful as she could, which is to say, not graceful at all. Finally situated she motioned for the horse to move on and it did so at blurring speed.

Soon enough they were both back at the scene of the battle. The dead were strewn across the ground with little care; the gold of the Kings men contrasted greatly with the pure black armour of the enemy. She didn’t know where to look. The battle still raged around them and she began to wonder what the point of it all was.

“Go bravely into battle,” the horse began. “Your courage will be shield alone but I will be here should you need me.”

She dismounted tentatively, unsure if her cowardice would resurface. She braced herself for an onslaught but found none, she would have to go to the battle. She watched in wonder as the horse plunged in head first felling all warriors in black as he went. It was a massacre but he was beautiful to behold.

She took a deep breath. She would be a coward no longer. She took the steed as an example and plunged into the battle. She used her sword to cut down foe before her and her crossbow to reach those her sword could not. In her own mind at least she was cutting a bloody swath that the enemy would not recover from.

Eventually enough of the enemy surrounded her and she fell to her knees exhausted. Let Death come now, she had earned forgiveness for her cowardice. She could die with honour.

“NO,” came a yell and she swore it was the horse again. He managed to wipe the enemy from one side of her and he shouted “you cannot die!” He charged her as he began to glow with silver light. It grew brighter and brighter until everyone, herself included, was blinded by it.

The silver sparkle gradually faded however and she found herself surrounded by her dead foe. More alarmingly she was clasped in a strong embrace amid the most intimate kiss of her life. She fluttered her eyes open and she was shocked to find the King alive and well. He broke the kiss reluctantly and said,

“Allia, warrior of the realm and my secret hearts desire, I will not let you go again.”

———————–

As you can see, it was the most vivid dream I could remember. What do you think? 🙂 Sorry if it doesn’t make sense, it was a dream after all 🙂

#FlashForFriday – Wasteland

This is a brilliant example of flash fiction for #FlashForFriday. The description is immense and you are sucked immediately into the story. Want a go? Think of an idea and you’re good to go 🙂

Flashing for Fridays – Saviour?

Hello lovely bloggers.

I have decided to take up an idea that my wonderful friend Jex has begun. I know the title of this post can lead one’s imagination to wander but it refers in fact to flash fiction; these are wonderful bursts of creativity that keep your skills going and your grey matter flourishing 🙂 This is my little flash entitled Saviour? Lets see if we can make this a regular thing ay? Happy #FlashForFriday everyone 🙂

———————————————————————————————-

Pain like she had never known screamed through her veins. What was happening to her? The last thing she remembered was the fighting. There was always so much fighting. She had joined the corps to serve with purpose and honour but had she done that yet? Had she buggery. She sighed. Now she seemed to be lying among bodies upon bodies beginning to sink into Lake Andola’s waters. She should freak out, she couldn’t swim, but she was tired. Let oblivion have her.

She marveled at the strength of their foes. The Orcs (Oppression Radical Combat Soldiers) had seemed to be in such a rage that perhaps the Human army never actually stood a chance. They were heavily armed today, their body armour gleaming, and their green tinged muscles bulging from God knows where. There had been a wave of fear on seeing them. They had fought bravely however and a tinge of satisfaction seeped into her mind. They were now wiped out much as the Human army was. She let out a heart felt laugh. Only silence met her but she hadn’t expected a response; she was sure everyone else was dead and she knew she herself was on the way out.

She felt something heavy slither over her leg. Surely it wasn’t the enemy. Did they slither? There was a growl and she knew it was no Orc but an alligator. She had thought they were extinct. Great that’s all she needed. She tried to move her arms, gripping her gun as she went, but only harsh pain was her response. She managed to lift her head and was greeted by an even worse sight. Beyond the menace she could just make out, through the darkness, a party of Orcs moving towards her. Great, what would she do now? She couldn’t even take on a ‘gator.

Suddenly, there was a great explosion of golden light and a figure appeared in its midst. She couldn’t be sure but they seemed to be floating. How the Hell were they managing that? The figure eventually came into view and she could see it was an elf. They were an elusive race that very rarely showed a presence in their universe. What could have brought this one here, now? She had flowing hair that alternated colour the more she looked. The main body seemed black and then deep, deep purple; the undercut and fringe tinged orange and then neon pink and then light blue; she was getting a headache from just looking. Her long corseted black robes blew in an unfelt breeze and her staff was sapphire topped. She felt comforted by her presence alone.

With a soothing smile, the elf lowered her staff so the sapphire was pointed at the battlefield. Closing her eyes, blue light poured forth. It dazzled and sizzled, both comforting and combating at the same time. She had to close her eyes against the brilliance but she could feel that it wasn’t malicious towards her. When she could finally open her eyes again the Orcs were gone, as was the ‘gator. The dead remained but she could cope with that; they had done it to themselves. The elf had floated down to stand next to her.

“Be not afraid Human. I am here to help,” she said in a voice that was nothing but melody. By then she had managed to scramble to her feet… somehow.

“Who… who are you?”

“You may call me Genevieve. I am an elf of the High Court. We are sent out to sort the foolishness of all races, and here I am.”

“I’m Andanna. I guess formerly of the Human Army Corps,” She couldn’t help but glance at the dead. “What are you doing here?” The elf hesitated. Do elves usually hesitate?

“I am here to save your soul.” And with that the elf enveloped them in blue flame, the oblivion Andanna had longed for coming a heck of a lot quicker then she had ever imagined.

END

There we go, that’s my first attempt at flash fiction, written only today. It was an idea that came to me, merging sci fi and fantasy; and explaining the concept that lives can change in the blink of an eye.

I hope you enjoyed it and see you again next Friday for more #FlashForFriday 🙂
